MEDIA RELEASE: MUNICIPAL OFFICES CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

MEDIA RELEASE: MUNICIPAL OFFICES CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
In the interest of the health and safety of both municipal staff and the community, Mossel Bay Municipality will close the municipal office to the public with immediate effect, and employees will work from home as far as possible.
Due to an increase in positive COVID-19 cases among the employees, the Municipal Manager has asked employees to work at home, where possible, until further notice.
Service delivery will continue uninterrupted. Emergency services personnel and staff serving the public at the licensing offices and cashiers will nevertheless be available as the necessary precautions are in place. All other staff will, as far as possible and as was the case with earlier lockdown levels, work at home.
Residents will, therefore, not be able to schedule person-to-person contact visits with municipal employees until further notice and are encouraged to use alternative methods such telephone, email and virtual platforms for enquiries. In cases where meetings have already been scheduled, the public should please contact the relevant officials for alternative arrangements.
The decision entails that public meetings, including the community safety roadshows, be suspended with immediate effect and until further notice.
The municipal contact centre will still answer inquiries on 044 606 5000 and channel complaints appropriately.
For any emergencies, please contact the Mossel Bay Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management Services (044 606 5000/044 606 5121/044 606 5107/044 691 3722)
Mossel Bay Municipality apologizes for any inconvenience and emphasizes that the arrangement was necessary and in the interest of community health and safety.

Dienslewering sal ononderbroke voortgaan.
