TECHNICAL SERVICES NOW UNDER ONE ROOF
The technical services of the Mossel Bay Municipality have been amalgamated into a new Directorate of Technical Services under Mr Dick Naidoo and all managerial and administrative personnel of the Directorate are now based in the Municipality’s old Health and Traffic buildings in George Road and Rudie Barnard Street respectively, according to a statement issued by the Municipality.
The personnel of the former Directorate of Civil Services have moved from Hartenbos to the abovementioned offices. This arrangement has also required moves to the Golden Rendezvous Building in Heiderand by the managerial and administrative personnel of the Horticulture, Sport and Recreation well as Waste Management and Pollution Control Sub-Directorates. The Socio-Economic Sub-Directorate in turn moved from the Golden Rendezvous to the municipal building in Hartenbos.
The Technical Services Directorate has been established to improve service delivery, and to streamline the technical services function. The Civil Services and Electrotechnical Services Directorate in effect functioned as a single function since 1 August 2010 when Mr Naidoo, who previously headed up the Electrotechnical Services Directorate, also assumed responsibility for the Civil Services Directorate when the position of Director of Civil Services became vacant.
Other key staff in the Directorate, with their contact numbers, are:
(044) 606-5084
The abovementioned telephone numbers, as well as those of other personnel who were affected by the moves, remained the same.
The new offices of the Technical Services Directorate are centrally located and will be a one-stop shop for all electrical, street lighting, water, sewer, road and storm water related queries or complaints.
The contact numbers for electrical complaints or queries are (044) 606-5082 and (044) 606-5086. The contact numbers for water, streets, storm water and sewer complaints are (044) 606-5262 and (044) 606-5282.
