This year,
from 8 September to 22 October, sports enthusiasts will for the 10th time since its inception, enjoy all the action at the annual Mossel Bay Sports
and Recreation Festival. The festival was established by the Mossel Bay
Municipality to stimulate the local economy and promote social regeneration
through advocating a healthy lifestyle.
MAYORAL GOLF DAY
The opening
event of the festival fittingly is the Mayoral Golf Day. Now in its 5th year, this event is hosted in support of the Mayoral Fund. The fund addresses
need in the community otherwise not budgeted for, like supporting the
development of young sports talent. The golf day is hosted at the Mossel Bay
Golf Club. Members of the public who do not play golf can also support this
worthy cause by participating in the ball drop competition. Purchase a numbered
golf ball for R100 and if you ball during the helicopter drop lands closest to
the hole, you can win a cash prize no less than R2500, but the more balls sold
– the higher the prize money. Contact Ronell du Toit today to buy your ball (rdutoit@mosselbay.gov.za) or
044 606 5095.
